I didn’t bring a camera or anything with me on this race, and I wish I had.
I don’t think I thought I had the strength to actually carry something with me for the 15 Kilometers and that may have been the truth, but the course was really great and the day was sunny and nice. It proved to be another fantastic break in this grueling winter!
Thankfully Julie brought Notch along so I have at least a few photos that she took from around the Start/Finish Line and their adventures around the park during my 2 hour 10 minute “run” around the park.
Without any way to keep time I had a really hard time judging how long it was taking me to knock each mile off. Normally I run at about a 10 minute per mile pace, but the first hill on this nearly 9.5 mile run had be sucking air and walking. From there on I was in survival mode, only continuing because I didn’t want to waste the entry fee on a 30 minute run.
Julie took Notch around the park and it sounds like they had a pretty wonderful time!
Eventually, I made it to the finish through the mud! I am feeling a bit more confident about my 2nd try at Quivering Quads in 2 weeks, but not too much.
